JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone to join our team in SKC for study guidance. As a study guide, you will support students in their language and knowledge development using their mother tongue, and act as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You will do this through close collaboration with the student’s mentor and teaching staff at the primary schools.

The study guidance can take place before, during, and after lessons based on the student's and subject's needs. This means that you will work both in class and individually with students in consultation with subject teachers. You will also work with students of different ages. The position is located at a primary school within Växjö Municipality.

The work involves collaboration with students, guardians, and school staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have a post-secondary education, preferably pedagogical, and experience in study guidance. Qualities such as teamwork and flexibility are important in this role as your work will be closely coordinated with others.

We are looking for someone who:

• has very good knowledge of the study guidance language in both spoken and written form
• has at least a passing grade in Swedish or Swedish as a second language 2 at the high school level
• has good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system
• is accustomed to taking significant personal responsibility and can work independently

The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made. The position is for 25% SÄVA with the possibility of extension.

OTHER INFORMATION

The Language and Competence Center is responsible for the reception of newly arrived students, mother tongue instruction, and study guidance in Växjö Municipality. The unit also has a competence assignment within reception, mapping, and study guidance.

SKC, the Language and Competence Center, is part of the Education Administration's Resource Center, which also includes the central child and student health services and the Culture School. SKC is led by a unit manager and two deputy unit managers.
